Raspberries

We have a small patch of raspberry canes in our garden, I love having them as they're one of my favourite kinds of berries. Several mornings this summer I've gone out a picked a handful to have at breakfast, I love growing my own food, pretty much, haha.

I ♥ VICTORIA

I've had a few people ask how I like living in Victoria, and honestly, I don't think I'd really rather live anywhere else. I like the weather, the people, the pace, and the city itself.

I've always thought I'd stay here in Victoria when I'm a bit older, unlike some of my friends who are considering moving somewhere else when they're a little older.

I've always been facinated with England (the entire United Kingdom, really), and thought when I younger that I'd like to move to London, but realistically I don't know if I'd want to move that far away from home. Although I'd love to travel there sometime!

HALF-TINTED SUNGLASSES AND CIGARETTE EARRINGS

As promised, the photos of the things I ordered from GirlProps that arrived in the mail a couple of days ago, my Mickey Mouse flip-up sunglasses also showed up in our mail box yesterday, love them!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I wore these out yesterday, love them. The only complaint I have is they're a little tight if you have them on for a long time, but not tight in a 'these are going to give me a headache in about 10 minutes if I don't take them off' kind of way.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I love this ring so much, it's much bigger than I thought it would have been and the colour is so pretty in real life. The white ring isn't new, fyi.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
The cigarette earrings, they're actually rolled up paper, I thought by the pictures they'd be only plastic, but they look awesome in real life, this picture doesn't really do them justice. And I have a lot of freckles and whatever, I know.

I'd absolutely order things fro GirlProps in the future.

And then my Mickey Mouse flip-up Lady Gaga Paparazzi video inspired (that was a mouth full) sunglasses from BleuDame. I love these! They're a little heavy on my nose, but not uncomfortably so.

Good for something.

I took these photos yesterday as some test shots for a photoshoot I was planning on doing, I've sort of changed my mind about the photo shoot, but the test shots were worth it, I think.

I received my ring, earrings, and sunglasses from GirlProps yesterday, and will take pictures of them today. I love the sunglasses especially!

And I'm planning on going down to Chinatown sometime within the next week or so to go shopping, I love the shops there.

Probably, you could expect another post by the end of the day if I don't get too busy, xx.

ANNOYING

I don't have a lot to say. Other than the smoke coming in the window from the neighbouring greenhouses is disgusting and I am sitting at home on a Saturday night, but I need not feel alone, a good portion of my Facebook friends-list are online.

And I am listening to True Blue by Madonna, and... um, that's probably about it. Oh, I'm going to watch 48 hours later, probably, unless I don't. That makes a helluva lot of sense, don't it?

Anywho, I'm continuing my uneventful weekend tomorrow, seriously going to clean my closet like an adult. I think. And going to the grocery store tomorrow, if I feel like it.

Goddamn, this must be annoying to read, I'm sorry, so here are a few webcam pictures from yesterday, when I liked my makeup more than I liked it today.

Don't I look excited.

Mum bought this for me at the grocery store, I love the Queen. Seriously, I do.

Not a hipster triangle, by the way. Because, you know, I'd have to be a hipster for it to be a hipster triangle, and I am not.

Sparkles and Black Liner

This is my makeup today, I don't think I like it as much as the look I posted last, but it was alright, I suppose. I still think I prefer plain black liner on my eyes.

When I look at the pictures I took of my makeup from my last post, I'm like 'Damn, I did that?', because honestly, I don't think I could recreate that look if I tried, haha.

WAKE UP IN YOUR MAKEUP

I tried a new makeup look today, it's a little heavier than usual for me. I don't normally wear sparkly eye makeup or do kind of smokey looks and such, but it was fun for a try.

I think I'm going to do it once more tomorrow to get the hang of the application a little more, but no video as of now, I'd have to work on 'perfecting' the application a lot more first, so maybe in the future, but not yet!

13 July 2010

Hey everyboooody!

As you've all probably noticed, I've been blogging a lot more the last couple of weeks, a direct result of procrastination and little to do, but a positive result of those things, that is!

It's summer, and I'm not a summer girl. Not like the girls Katy Perry sings about in her song California Gurls. I hate the heat, I haven't tanned in 3 years, and another thing is, my summer's are almost always dull. It seems like everyone I know has it one of two ways.

The first being they're super busy with holidaying and summer activities (ie. beach, tanning, etc) and the second being they're super busy with lazing around the house, doing nothing things with friends, and doing more nothing by themselves.

My summer's are almost always more like the latter, but that's alright with me, I'm always a lot busier in the Fall and Winter months, sometimes Spring too, for some reason.

So what are my summer plans? Well, I haven't a list, I haven't even really thought about it, but I'll list a few of things here that come to mind.

- Go shopping in Chinatown
- Get a new case for my Blackberry and decorate it
- Redecorate my room a little, and move some stuff around, this really is an ongoing process though
- Watch the first two seasons of Secret Diary of a Call Girl, almost all the way through the first
- Finish at least four of the books I'm reading
- Go to the Water Ballet in the Inner Harbour
- Make a fake-flower headband
- Download a shitload of new music
- Decorate a pair of sunglasses with pearls or flat plastic jewels around the frames
- Keep you guys updated all the way :)

And there's lots of other things I could think of, and hopefully I'll actually do some of these things and not just procrastinate until Summer's over.

What are you plans for this Summer?

SUNGLASSES

I have a major thing for sunglasses, they're basically my favourite accessory.

Yesterday I came across a great website, BleuDame with tonnes of amazing sunnies, I ordered one pair, but am definitely considering a couple of others, and not only are they lovely looking, they're pretty inexpensive too!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

These are the pair I ordered, inspired by the sunglasses Lady Gaga wore in her Paparazzi video (which also happens to be one of my favourite videos of hers).

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I love these 60's inspired round cat-eye sunnies.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

These, I think, are just stunning. I love the slightly transparent coloured frames.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I love how just, different, these angular black glasses are.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

And theses ones, I have major love for them. And for just $14.80, they're affordable too!

These are sorts of things I spend my money on.

Cheap accessories, books, and magazines.

I ordered these four things yesterday, I can't wait to have them show up in the mail!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The flip up sunglasses are from BleuDame and everything seen above else is from GirlProps.

You'd probably be surprised to see the books piled up on my nightstand shelf, and I'm going to order these two books to add to the pile. I'm currently working on reading seven books, that's how I do things. I do them sporadically and then end up with a pile of things half done, half read, etc, you get the point.

I'm ordering The Definitive Book of Body Language and American On Purpose, from Amazon this week, because it's a hell of a lot easier and cheaper than searching all the book stores in town only to find they cost almost twice as much or that they don't have them at all.

And I bought my favourite magazine British Glamour (it's last month's issue because they're almost always a month late in Canada) on Friday at Shoppers, as well as a new pair of falsies and a metallic green nail polish.

Twitter-Tweeting-Ephemeral-Fleeting-FlügenWeb-Späcecode-TwitZöne-Ass Möde-Check Ze Tweets!

I bet no one's gonna get that reference, wah. BUT, if you get it, do say so!

I made a Twitter account back in February and didn't really start to use it until around April, but I changed the URL since I posted it to my blog a while ago, so I thought I would post it again.

I use it more now days, but do note that it is one of those Tweety's that's full of complaining, pointless shit, very random thoughts, a passive aggressive statement here and there, and the occasional bout of obsessing over things/people/whatever.

Follow me on Twitter at http://twitter.com/itsabbeyk

Also, note the URL is subject to change, I'm not in love with itsabbeyk anymore, so I might be changing it.

Today

I did this video this morning mainly to show what I wore today, it's right pointless, but that's alright. The song is I Want You by The Kings of Leon.

Went to the grocery store earlier and my aunt and her boyfriend came over in the afternoon, and that mess I was going to clean up yesterday in my room and closet, it's still a mess, I procrastinate so much, it's not good.

I want the big sunglasses.

I bought these sunglasses a couple of months ago at Icing.
They have to be one of my favourite paris, they're so big, but delicate.

Yesterday I went for a little bit of a Gaga inspired look with the pinkish red lipstick (it looks more red here, but it's a purply/pinkish red in person) and the big sunglasses.

The Habour Ballet

Every Sunday at 10:45am down at the Inner Harbour in Victoria there is a 'Water Ballet'. It's basically the captains of the ferries driving their boats around the with the Blue Danube Waltz playing the harbour.

The first time I heard about this was on Canada Day and I love the harbour and downtown Victoria, so am planning on going one week this Summer and taking my camera along. The final performance is on Labour Day.

I took this photo back in February, everything looks kind of grey at that time of the year, but it's beautiful in the summer.

10 July 2010

Don’t give in, you can never let them win.

Happy Saturday, lovies.

It's a little cooler outside today, thank goodness.

Now if only it would stay like it is today for the rest of the summer, ahah. Yesterday wasn't as hot as the day before, either, and it clouded over in the afternoon yesterday so that helped the heat a little, I think.

And that's when I went outside and took a few snapshots of myself and our yard.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Don't mind our old, decrepit basketball hoop, and no, I don't know where the net got to, but its been gone for a while now.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Looking white as ever in July, and trust me, I'd look the same even if this picture was in colour and not black and white.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
In all my freckly glory, I think I've noticed some new ones on my face thank to the sun.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
And our apple trees are getting little apples, they aren't really ready until late Summer, but they're worth waiting for!

Now, I have a massive mess of stuff tossed everywhere in my bedroom and closet that I think I might try to get a start on this afternoon, maybe.

Back in January

I won a contest, I've won two in all my life, this one and the other where I won a bag of cat food for my cats, um yes, really.

The prize was a gift certificate for the online shop ModCloth and last month I finally found something buy with it, although there's still a little left over.

I bought myself a new umbrella, if you've been around me in the rain trying to stay dry under a pink kids brolly, you'll know how much I've bitched about not being able to find a new umbrella I liked, until I found this one.

The pattern on it is a map of the New York subway system, I really love it and can't wait to have a chance to use it to stay dry this fall.
