I CRY GLITTER

No, not really. I'm not even sad, and doing these kind of sad-looking photos is fun, because I don't relate to them anymore, because I'm happy now. :)

I quite like how they turned out, the glitter is just a glitter eyeliner I had laying around. I was originally going use lip gloss with glitter in it, but I couldn't find it, I must of tossed it out a while ago..

ANYWAY, here are four new photos that are a bit different from the usual work I do.









I didn't do much today. Coursework, dropped off my first assignment for Food Studies, went to the grocery store.

NEW BANNER

As I'm sure some of you have noticed, I just changed my blog header today!
I was trying to get the effect of this sort of thing, but kind of missed the mark.



I'd die to know how people make text like that, since when I tried what I thought would do it I ended up with my current banner.

It was a good mistake though, haha, I like how it came out kind of crazy and uneven.

Mending Clothes

Mum and I spent part of the afternoon mending and altering clothes, maybe when we're done I'll take some pictures in some of them and post them.

They're mostly summer clothes I've picked up for cheap at thrift stores over this fall/winter, getting excited for spring & summer weather so I can wear some of these things!

SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Brandon from SimplyCloth and I hiked up to forest-y area near where we both live yesterday afternoon and shot some photos.

All of the photos of me are by Brandon using my camera, and the ones of Brandon are by yours truly, the rest of scenery ones I took as well.


















After we did that, we walked back to Brandon's place and I got a few shots of an old greenhouse that is falling apart.

INJURIES

So as promised, here is the first of the pictures. These are the minor injuries I got from the car accident I was in a week ago. Like I said, just some bruising and cuts, nothing more or less.

MOAR DELAYS.

THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY.
Like I said in one of my last posts, I got my computer back, well I hooked it all up and turned it on Wednesday night, and the virus that was supposed to be cleaned up and gone, WAS STILL THERE.

So, off to the shop again yesterday morning, and now it should be fixed. *crosses fingers*

I just wanted to let you guys know, so you wouldn't think I was just being a lazy bitch as usual.
Update tonight or tomorrow, at the latest, promise!

In other news, I had some freaky fucking dreams last night, I must have been dreaming the entire time I was sleeping. It must be something in the water lately, because my mum who never, hardly ever has dreams said she had some weird ones last night too, haha.

Test Post

I just wanted to write a short post with some text and a random picture since I'm editing the html of the layout and such, then I can preview it properly and see what I need to change.

edit: changed the font, might change it again, I'm not sure what else except the header, but that's takes more than just html... the space in-between the text and pictures in the posts is bugging me, but I don't know what I need to edit to make the space just a touch smaller.

GREAT NEW WAVE

The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria has on a fairly new exhibit called Great New Wave. It's an exhibit on contemporary art from Japan, there's a small write-up about it here on the AGGV's website.

I really like modern art, I don't really have one specific favourite type of art, but this looks really interesting. I think I'll be seeing if I can find anyone to drag along with me when I go to see it before it ends at the end of May, haha.

I haven't been to the Art Gallery since '08 when I went to see the Andy Warhol exhibit, which I really enjoyed. I almost didn't end up going and didn't, but I then found out they had extended it's stay at the gallery and went down in the last week, most definitely worth seeing. I got the middle poster there, I love it and still have it on my wall, with my two Warhol prints from Michael's Crafts.

My little Warhol 'shrine' or something to that effect, that is above my desk in my room.


I'll be posting more pictures of my room of better quality (read: taken with my actual camera, not webcam, soon). And if you're wondering what those weird white-ish see-through things above them are, they're star-shaped lights. Kind of like Christmas lights, I guess.

Today, tomorrow, the next day, and the weekend

(the last pictures I've been posting are all from Monday night, I haven't been looking the same for three days in a row, haha)

And that title works, because it's Wednesday today.

Today, I have to call a counselor at school about the work experience papers I have finished filling out and need to send in, and about the Food Studies course. I also need to prepare my answers to my questions for the questions for my phone interview about my English course. I got my computer back today, I just need mum to help me plug everything back in, haha. I also am thinking of taking my camera out and taking some pictures of the spring flowers that are starting to come up.

Tomorrow: I'm not sure what I'm doing tomorrow... Thursday.. probably course work in Socials and English. Maybe going the grocery store, pick up the stuff for the Food Studies course if I can. Probably just get ahead a bit with my coursework and chill out. There's a lot of barn work to do as well, probably I'll get some of that done in the afternoon.

The Next Day: More coursework, and then I'm not too sure what.

The Weekend: I'm doing a photoshoot with my friend on Sunday, and maybe going skating with somebody on Saturday. Here's a thought though, shooting a new header or making one from scratch, I haven't gotten that far yet though, haha.

To people who have asked about my hair;

I make it look like it does by doing the following:

- Not washing it enough

- Not brushing out the backcombing I put in except for washing it

- Putting too much hair spray in it and then not washing it out for days

- Not using a conditioner

- Not brushing it more than, lets say 2 or 3 times a week

- Having naturally curly hair

- Cutting it myself and not having it professionally done for about 6 months

- Never having it professionally treated

- Picking at split ends

- And finally, overall, treating it with almost no respect.

Oh, I wish I were joking, because I am basically being 100% serious, haha.
Seriously though, I will put a little video together on how I fix it up every morning, sometime.

Lady Gaga at the Brit Awards

I loved her performance, the slowed-down version of Telephone was fantastic.
I also really liked that she dedicated it to McQueen, she puts together the most interesting performances.
She also won 3 awards, including International Female Artist.

Dear Readers,

I wrote a short message to my Tumblr followers the other day, and thought I'd write one to all you fabulous readers of this little blog of mine as well.

I want to thank you all for being loyal, continuing to read what I write, and look over the photos I post.

Thank you all for putting up with the prolonged dry-spells of no new posts, posts lacking real purpose, annoying fan-girling over guys most people don't like (that way), sometimes posts being done obviously half-arsed, and changing the blog address without warning.

I never thought I'd have a 300+ following on blogger. I created a Chictopia account way back in December '08, posted a couple of times, and then kind of gave up on it. I never realised how much could change in only just over a year, I never expected any of this.

I started again in March of last year, and my work and hobby slowly progressed into lookbook.nu, a blog of my own, several wonderful write-ups people have made about me or my blog on their blogs (thank you all who have written anything about my blog endlessly), and a modest-sized following of terrific people.

And although having this blog has had some annoyances, and stresses, it's all been worth it.

Thank you all again for putting up with me and continuing to read my blog.

Hey Guys...

Sorry for not updating lately, a lot has happened in the last few days, some good, some not good, so here's a little update.

On Friday afternoon I was in a car accident. I was practicing driving, and was attempting to turn a corner that has a really nasty blind spot because of some large trees along the side of the road. As I turned, an empty school bus, literally, came out of no where over the hill along the road, and what I'm guessing happened was I turned too wide and collided into it. No one was seriously hurt, just bruises and scratches. I think I got the brunt of any of it, so that's good, especially since no one really got hurt. I have some cuts on my left knee, bruises on both legs, and a good graze on my nose, but other than that, I'm perfectly okay. I was very lucky, it could have turned out so much worse, and I'm so glad it didn't.

On Saturday night my computer started acting up (I'm writing this from the laptop I share with my mum), and I haven't been able to use it since then. Hoping it will be fixed by tomorrow.

On Sunday we started renovations in our kitchen, so due to that and my not having a computer, I retreated to my bedroom. Which I ended up completely re-decorating and moving my furniture, to my bruised legs and stiff neck's dismay. I really like how it turned out, and I'm going to take some photos of it, tomorrow probably. I also took a couple of pictures of my legs, so if you're not into slightly gruesome pictures, watch out for them in the next couple of days. Once I get my computer back from the shop, they're going to be put up here.

Today, Brandon and I went downtown and browsed some shops, and then went and wandered around by the Empress Hotel and harbour. I bought a pullover and pair of shorts at The Patch, which I will take photos of also, and met a few new people, mostly shop keepers that Brandon introduced me to.

I loved the outfit I wore today, but I ended up with 3 blisters on my feet from wandering around downtown. I wanted to take some outfit-pictures, but didn't feel like going through the pain of putting them back on, and going to-and-from the camera and the spot I was going to pose in 20+ times to reset the timer. Oh well.

Tomorrow, I hopefully will be able to pick up my computer. I'm going to see a friend of ours with my mum to pick something up downtown in the morning or afternoon. And maybe, hopefully, get my 'I ♥ Conan' t-shirt printed. I have the shirt, I just need to get it silkscreened.
I'm also not sure whether to get it all CAPITALIZED or just like This.

I also must phone my school contact person tomorrow, I need to enroll in at least one more elective course, like NOW. I can't wait any longer because I need to get started on it now, before anymore time goes by. I'm going to take either Family Studies 12 or Food Studies 12, I'm not sure, but I'm leaning towards the food one..
This also is troubling me, which is plainly stupid. Either one isn't going to be a hard course, and God knows that I can speed-through work and maintain a good grade, unless it's math, which this is not!
