As I'm stuck at home with a bad cold I thought I'd post photos of all my past Halloween costumes! I promise I'll post a new look to lookbook, chictopia, and here soon, but I've got this cold which is kind of keeping me down.
I've dressed up for every Halloween except for my first one, but 1994 and 1995's costumes I couldn't find pictures of. These were all taken at either my house, or my great aunt and uncle's where I used to trick-or-treat with the neighborhood kids I was friends with.
This was my very first witch costume when I was 3 years old, which my mum made for me. ♥
The first year I dressed up as a cat, I think I was 4 here, my mum made this one also. We had just gotten the first cat I'd known since he was a kitten, my mum had always had others but they had all come before me, haha.
Glenda from the Wizard of Oz, I think I was in love with her dress and hat and that's why I wanted to dress up as her, again made by my mum. I was at my great uncle and aunt's house in this one, since where we lived the houses were quite far apart and not many handed out candy to trick-or-treaters.
Another of the same costume, I came across this photo yesterday going through old photo albums, and fell in love with it! ♥
Age 6, I think I was just a fairy here. Made by my mum. ♥
Age 7, I was the Ariel The Little Mermaid that year, I forgot how good my mum is at sewing, I wish I could say the same! I remember just loving the long bright red wig.
I was obsessed with Megra from the Disney movie Hercules, my mum made it and, you can tell from the costume and Megra doll I'm holding I loved her, haha. No one knew who I was supposed to be, but I loved it anyway. I think I was 8 years old here.
Oh my god, those boots, they're so embarrassing, I think I really loved them at the time, but I think they are really ugly now, haha. This was in 2002, and the second time I was a witch, and my mum made the cape and hat, and I think we just put the rest together from my clothes and things.
I wasn't being very creative, I for some reason decided to be a witch again in 2003. And again, the ugly boots, haha, and same for how we put this one together.
Last year wearing the ugly boots in 2004, second time being a cat, but a black cat this time around, haha.
I think I was supposed to be a 'glamour girl' or something here, again rather embarrassing, haha. I remember loving this costume, I put it together entirly from dress-up clothes of mine and my own everyday clothes and things. I was 12 here, I believe, and I remember one of the people who's house I trick-or-treated at asked to take a photo of me because she was taking photos of her favourite Halloween costumes, haha. ♥
This was kind of a rushed costume, I just threw it together and went as Vampira, minus the fangs in 2006. My hair had looked different, but by the end of the night it had gone pretty flat, haha.
Ultimately, the most embarrassing of them all, haha. I was a 'funky witch' in 2007. I never really got to wear it though since my friends I was going out with canceled at the last minute, literally, while we were in the car going to meet up with them they phoned and canceled. We ended up having a bonfire and hanging out at my house with a couple of other people, so it turned out alright after all, haha.
Finally, last year. I was going to go as Edie Sedgwick, but changed my mind at the last minute and went as a blonde vampire, not my best but I only had a couple of hours to toss it together.
I hope that I can make 2009's costume look better than last year's costume, at least, haha. ♥
